Get every advantage in your protest when you join O’Connor’s Property Tax Protection Program™ today. There is no cost to join, and you only pay if your taxes are lowered. Enroll, relax, and save.

Lubbock County ARB

Thanks to how important format protests are, the ARB has an outsized impact on how property taxes are assessed in Lubbock County. Businesses, especially, count on this impartial organization to act as a referee between them and LCAD. Formal protests require greater evidence, which O’Connor can help with. For over 50 years, O’Connor has been gathering evidence, filing appeals, and representing clients at hearings. As one of the largest firms in the nation, O’Connor has both the national firepower and local expertise needed to win the formal protest.

There were 15 members of the ARB as of 2024. Since each board usually has three members, that means there were five complete units. The board has had 15 members since 2020. Days with a Hearing

There was a total of 54 days with a formal hearing in 2024. Since 2020, the board has averaged 55 per year, so this was a slight improvement. The board must meet until every protest has been heard, so more members usually translates into fewer days. While formal protests have been increasing, they have always been disproportionately high in Lubbock, so the county has always been somewhat prepared. Still, an expansion should be on the table in the near future.
